Qigong & Healing Work
Qigong is the art of working with breath, posture, and intention to gather, refine, and direct Qi. Over time, qigong supports the lungs, kidneys, immune system, bones, and spirit—and provides a powerful foundation for self-cultivation and longevity.

Qigong Foundations: Breath, Posture & Intention
Qigong teaches that three things shape our energy and our life: breath, posture, and intention. These three components are simple, but they hold profound transformative power.
Breath is the beginning and the end of life. Our first breath marks our separation from the womb; from that moment forward, we begin using the Jing and essence we inherited from our parents. Breath fans the fire of the Gate of Life (Ming Men), powering digestion, absorption, and elimination, and helping transform food and air into Qi and blood. The lungs oversee our defensive Qi, or wei qi, circulating at the surface of the body and through the smooth muscles and pores. When the lungs and breath are strong, our immune system and boundaries are strengthened.
Posture is how we meet the world. Each qigong form is designed to align the body so qi can move freely through the channels and organs. Standing practices nourish the Kidneys and bones, walking practices benefit the Liver and tendons, sitting practices support the Spleen and digestion, and lying practices can regulate the Lungs and breath. When posture is balanced, the organs are supported; when posture is collapsed or rigid, stagnation and strain develop over time.
Intention is the quiet command of the mind. In this medicine we say that qi follows the mind, qi is the commander of blood, and blood is the mother of qi. As our qigong practice deepens, our intention becomes clearer and more steady. The mind learns to direct qi to where it is needed—to nourish depleted areas, to disperse excess, and to awaken parts of ourselves that have gone dormant.
Through consistent practice with breath, posture, and intention, qigong helps us gather, build, and store qi for our own healing and for the healing of others. It strengthens the immune system, supports the organs and channels, and anchors the spirit more fully in the body. In this way, qigong is both a longevity practice and a path of self-cultivation.
