Hi, I’m Caitlin!

I’m the creator of Yoga Therapy to Bust Back Pain!

This is an online therapeutic program that guides you step-by-step into feeling your best whilst sitting all day.

Why is this program a MUST-HAVE?

I developed this program for my clients because I get it. I’ve been sitting for most of my days over the last 12 years of my life. From high school, to college and working as a receptionist, to becoming a dental hygienist (for 9+ years), and now to sitting on my computer creating this course.

I hear people complain EVERY SINGLE DAY about pain in their bodies and how it affects their everyday lives. With the rise of technology: being on our phones and computers so much, we’ve slowly started to round our back much more, which leads directly to pain & decreases the overall health of our spine.

When I became a Yoga Therapist– I decided to do something different. I gathered all of the information, research, and real-life examples I could on what sitting actually does to our bodies & minds and created a thesis paper.

I finally started bringing my knowledge and education of all this hard work to my classes and my private sessions– my clients were STUNNED.

They couldn’t believe how good they felt after moving in such simple, yet strategic ways.

They couldn’t believe they could reduce their pain SO MUCH by just one exercise, one movement, and one class with me.

I realized I needed to create a program for people who can’t see me in person–so they could experience this type of transformation, too.

PROGRAM DETAILS

WEEK 1

Introduction + Welcome

  • Welcome: get the game-plan in order, including goals, setting aside time, and set up your first consultation!
  • Get connected: connect with others in the facebook group
  • Start your first week with a 30 minute Yoga Therapy practice called “A New You” - a practice that can be done at your desk!
  • You’ll receive the “Tips for Staying Healthy at Work” Guide, you can begin incorporating this idea into your day-to-day life.

WEEK 2

Finding Your Foundation

  • Now that you’ve settled in a little, you’ll enjoy this practice called Finding Your Foundation: a practice done on the floor (doesn’t mean it’s easy though!)
  • You’ll receive the “How To Improve Your Posture and Decrease Your Pain” PDF, you can begin incorporating this into your day ASAP!
  • Feeling a little overwhelm? Stagnancy? Try this short meditation to stay motivated & on track for your goals!

WEEK 3

Building off Your Foundation

  • This week we’ll build off of the last week with another practice on the floor called “Building off Your Foundation.”
  • You’ll receive “5 Easy Stretches to do at Work” so you can start incorporating it every single day!
  • You’ll receive a guided relaxation that is perfect to slow you down, or to help you sleep better at night!
  • Add 45 minute consultation

WEEK 4

The Importance of Space

  • We’ll explore the idea around creating space as opposed to tension and tightness & how this may be affecting your pain BIG TIME.
  • You’ll receive “5 of the Best Neck/Shoulder Stretches to Reduce Pain” so you can easily incorporate these at work

WEEK 5

The Importance of Strength

  • The “Importance of Strength” will be a practice focused on standing-- don’t worry, you can use a chair for support, too.
  • You’ll receive “How Building Strength in Your Core & Back Can Decrease Pain” so you can start feeling strong from the inside-out.
  • We’ll set up your final consultation with me-- 30 minutes for you to ask me questions about areas of pain or discomfort, ask for guidance or areas to grow or build.

WEEK 6

The Quilt

  • This practice, “the Quilt”, will be a slightly longer practice with a focus on weaving together everything we’ve learned.
  • You’ll receive “5 Exercises to Reduce Low Back Pain” - an easy go-to guide you can grab anytime, anywhere!

But what if…

People often say, “I can’t do yoga – I’m not flexible” — that is so not true. We do yoga so we get more flexible! In fact, yoga helps to improve mobility in our body, which decreases pain in our muscles and joints. Yoga therapy also builds strength and alignment, which is super important in order to balance our mobility.

Or, “Won’t I always be in pain if I’m always sitting?” Nope! When we move our bodies, we increase circulation and decrease discomfort and pain. When we learn to move our bodies through intentional movement, we allow our bodies to actually be COMFORTABLE while when we sit all day. Imagine that? 🙂

Yes. Most people who sit all day feel pain in their physical body that can either stem from sitting all day, or is exacerbated by sitting.

Research shows that sitting all day can cause the following: back pain, high blood pressure, high blood sugar, obesity, chronic diseases.

When we target certain muscles through movement, we can drastically decrease pain & discomfort.

Yoga therapy, and this program specifically, targets the specific areas of the physical body that becomes affected by sitting all day.

You’ll get access to the entire program throughout the 6 weeks together, so I’ll send you the videos week by week.

Yes. The course materials will be yours to keep!

It will vary depending on what you desire for an outcome. All the videos range from 20-30 minutes. You can do the videos every day, or maybe just once or twice a week.
